Bio

I have been writing since I can remember, making up stories about my Barbie’s at age 7, writing scary stories for my school newspaper at age 13 and from then on I have fallen in love, time and time again, with writing.

There is just something about the writing life that allures me. I adore the lifestyle, the hard work involved and the feeling of being co-dependent to it…is all ok with me, as long as can produce magic in the end.

Yes, writing is magical; especially writing about ghosts, spells, ghouls, haunted houses, devils and demons, darkness and confusion. I get lost in it. There is nothing I love more than imagining a whole new world….a world that I created from nothing.

So then…why am I not writing…

The truth is, I am lazy. I am scared. I am lost. I needed some help. It was my brother that offered to me…a challenge! He challenged me to create a creative blog, to add something to it every day–for one whole year. That is why I am here.

I want to find that passion again and make it grow and flourish. There will be no more excuses for me.

So if you would like to follow my progress this year, I invite you to join me and hopefully you will enjoy some of my work here. I plan to fill this blog with stories, poems, reviews, art, pictures, quotes and whatever else I can think of that could be deemed ‘creative’. Not all will be masterpieces, but that is not the point. The point is to just get out there and DO IT!

Happy Viewing!

P.S. Thanks Brother Jon! I love you and good luck!

Other than being dramatic, Her Gentle Madness (a.k.a– me) is a thirty something year old gothic horror/fantasy writer, poet, artist, blogger, mom, bibliophile and an eternal seeker of the ‘perfect’ creative lifestyle. She lives in Minnesota with her son Kieran, and the rest of the voices inside her head.
